From the recent module 2.1, we discussed the spiritual flavours of God. As a refresher, its legend is duplicated below.
G = Word = light = The Holy Trinity; God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
H = Word = light = Holy Spirit, Intelligence, consciousness. Similar to the breath of life, as man was created within the book of Genesis.
J = Word = light = mediator = Jesus.
J = John the Baptist
D = Darkness, evil, and the serpent within the human body.
Within the book of John, chapter-one verses four and five, describe how light H is within every one of us. This is basically the “breath of life” (Genesis 2:7). Note however, that wrapped around our inner light - is the spiritual darkness of our sinful bodies. Since we were born into darkness, we often struggle here on earth.
In the following verses, Peter speaks of his body like a tent for his spirit. Note that it was Jesus who earlier described this analogy to Peter, so it should be quite accurate.
1st Peter 1, NIV: (12) So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. (13) I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, (14) because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. (15) And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.
This next verse describes how our greatest struggles are not against other people made of flesh and blood, but against the unseen spiritual realm.
Ephesians 6, NIV: (12) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Understand that God G lives within the "natural" universe comprised of atoms and molecules. Because of this, he has to battle against evil forces in a similar manner that we do. In this respect, we were born in the image of God G, as we have his breath of life H inside of us, shrouded with darkness D.
Our consciousness (light) is held within our sinful bodies. This includes all of us, as there is none free from sin. Now, although Jesus didn’t commit sin himself, he was definitely tempted while in his earthly body. That is why he became the perfect lamb of God to die on the cross to take away our sins… as he didn’t have any!
Jesus is always here to help us with our struggles. When we accept Jesus as our saviour and begin to built our faith, his spirit J enters our body and proceeds to make a clear distinction between light H and darkness D. As Jesus enters, our thoughts become clearer and we obtain a greater awareness between spiritual light and darkness. Certain “grey matter” is disbanded through Jesus Christ our saviour.
Importantly... when Jesus enters our life, he does not change our personality, as he loves us just the way we are. What he does do however, is focus upon our heart.
John 3, NIV: (16) For God G so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son J, that whoever believes in him J shall not perish but have eternal life. (17) For God G did not send his Son J into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
